New Delhi: Maulana Arshad Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, openly spoke on communalism, government policies and social issues in the general meeting of the organization held in Delhi on Thursday. Referring to the challenges before the Muslims, he targeted the government and the ‘communal forces’, as well as praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh i.e. RSS’s recent proposal. Maulana Madani insisted that his fight will not be on the streets, but in court.

Issues in front of Muslims

Maulana Madani said, ‘Muslims have a lot of issues, not one or two issues. After the independence of the country, the communal mentality got a chance and an atmosphere was created against the Muslims. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind was first revealed against it. We will not fight on the streets with communal forces, because it is not right for the country. Our fight is with the government that is leaving these forces open.

Assam’s CM said sharp attack

Maulana Madani fiercely targeted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma. He said, ‘The Chief Minister of Assam always broke the rotis of the Congress, but his mentality was of RSS. We told Sonia Gandhi not to give tickets to Himanta. I also wrote them a letter, but the ticket was given. Today he has set the Congress policies on fire in Assam. 50 thousand Muslims were destroyed and they were not given land. Hindus also have a similar population, but they are not handed over. We are preparing to go to the Supreme Court on this issue.

Madani expresses concern over the issue of NRC

Maulana Madani also expressed concern over the issue of National Civil Register (NRC). He said, ‘The issue of NRC is rising again. 1971 has been considered as the basis of citizenship, but the government is trying to change it. We have intended that we will again go to the Supreme Court on this issue. We went to the Supreme Court on the issue of madrasas. The court asked us to go to the High Court. The matter is going on there and we hope that the decision will be in our favor. Madani also clarified that it is not possible to go to court on every small and big issue, but when a government institution goes against the Constitution, then Jamiat will knock the door of the Supreme Court.

Udaipur also spoke on film controversy

Speaking about the film ‘Udaipur Files’ on the Kanhaiyalal murder case in Udaipur, Maulana Madani said,’ The new issue was raised of a film, which was to show our religion wrongly to show our religion. We went to court and 6 cuts were put in the film. Later the government allowed the film to be released, but we again went to court and got about 60 cuts. This happened because our religion was incorrectly introduced in the film.

RSS and Mohan Bhagwat praised

Maulana Madani praised his proposal on the completion of 100 years of RSS. He said, ‘We liked the proposal that RSS proposed in its committee. If we talk about coming with Hindu-Muslim, then we are not against RSS. He told that he met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat 8 years ago and he said the same. He said that if he gets a chance, he will meet again. On the temple dispute of Kashi and Mathura, Maulana Madani said, “Our view in this case is 1991 Vership Act.” Commenting on the law of three children, he said, “Whoever wishes, do it.”

Proud of constitution and history

Referring to the historical contribution of Muslims in India, Maulana Madani said, ‘Muslims have been living in India for more than a thousand years. From Kerala to Kashmir, there are Hindus and Muslims in every fraternity. Our history is better than you. He insisted that Jamiat does not want Hindu-Muslim tension on the streets, but will fight in the court in a constitutional manner.
