Bangalore: Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre has recommended the suspension of many, including IFS officials in the service of the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) forest land denotification case. 14,000 crore in this case. The Supreme Court has been accused of unauthorized application for denotification of valuable forest land.
Minister Ishwar Khandre spoke in Bengaluru and declared 599 acres of land in HMT in the Peenya-Jalahalli area as forest land in 1896. However, the land has been illegally sold to various institutions, without converting to non -forestry purposes. According to many rulings of the Supreme Court and the 1980 Forest Conservation Act, the land remains a forest.
IFS officers who are involved in the case are the Additional Principal Conservator of Forests R. The minister has written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to suspend Gokul and another officer. In addition, two retired officers involved in the case have been recommended to take action against the rules of service.
According to Minister Khandre, there is still a planting on 280 acres of HMT land. However, in 2020, the Supreme Court was submitted to the Supreme Court with a false statement that the land had lost the forest. It is a serious allegation that the application was filed without government permission or cabinet approval. Because of this, the minister said that the decision has already been taken to withdraw the IA and the decision has been recognized in the cabinet.
There are also allegations that real estate companies have built hundreds of flats and commercial activities, including shooting. Khandre said the government aims to save the land and build a large city park in the north of Bangalore. “This is an essential Lung Space for Bangalore. It is the responsibility of seven crore Kannadigas to protect it,” he said.
Khandre has warned that strict action will be taken against the officials involved in the case. The dispute has led to a heated debate on the status of HMT land and the importance of forest conservation.
