Bangalore: The police department has submitted a proposal to the central government seeking the creation of a new 20 DIG cadre post and a DGP post. It has been reported that the state police system is quietly prepared to conduct a major surgery. State police department If the Central Lok Sewa Commission responds positively to the plea, it will be fortunate to be a DIG for 20 SPs at the same time. Similarly, the number of five DGP posts currently in addition to the DG-IGP will rise.

Also, the Additional Police Director General of Police (ADGP) has been seen as a DGP promotion on the basis of service seniority. The proposal has been sent to the Center and a report has been sent to the Center, which is expected to be approved by the Center shortly. It is reported that DIG posts will be promoted during January 2026.

The number of SP grade officers has increased out of a total of 224 IPS officers in the state. In 2012, the highest number of IPS posts was promoted by KPSC cadre officers. Thus, the posts are reduced to the highest SP grade posts and the posts are upgraded to the posts of DIG cadre. Top sources said that the police department was a plan to promote the SPs.

Similarly, DCPs D. Devaraj, S. Girish, DR Sirigauri, AIGPs Sanjeev Patil, Kala Krishnaswamy, Belgaum SP Bhimashankar Guled It is said that 20 officers, including Rural SP Dr CK Baba, KGF SP Shantaraju and Dhamendra Kumar Meena in the Central Service, will be promoted.

Creation of DGP post: Currently, there are five DGP posts, including CID, Cyber, Prisons Department, Firefighters and Police Housing Corporation to supplement the post of DG-IGP. The department has proposed the creation of another DGP post based on the strength of the police.

Non Executive Vacancies Upgrade: The Department has proposed to upgrade the post of non -executive SP, including the SCRB, AIGP and SP of the Prisons Department of the State Police Center.
