According to the report, poverty in rural areas has come down from 69 percent to 32.5 percent and in urban areas from 43.5 percent to 17.2 percent.
According to the World Bank’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), non-monetary poverty in India has come down from 53.8 percent to 15.5 percent in 2022-23 in 2005-06.
This includes 6 scales such as education, drinking water, sanitation and electricity.
According to the NITI Aayog, the MPI population increased from 29.17 percent to 2022-23 in 2013-14 to 11.28 percent.
