The Karnataka government has announced to give another major gift of reservation for the Muslim community. The Congress government led by Siddaramaiah has increased the quota of the Muslim community by 5 percent under the Housing Scheme (Housing Scheme). What is the decision of the government?
The Congress government of Karnataka had earlier decided to give the benefit of reservation to the Muslim community in the government contract. At the same time, now the Congress government has decided to give more reservation to the Muslim community in housing schemes as well. In this scheme, a proposal has been passed in today’s cabinet regarding increasing Muslim reservation from 10% to 15%.
The Muslim population will get the benefit of this proposal on various schemes being run by the Housing Department in urban and rural areas of the state. Currently, 10% reservation among housing beneficiaries is scheduled for minorities. In the proposal, it has been decided to increase this reservation from 10% to 15%.
What did DK Shivkumar say on the decision?
The statement of Deputy CM DK Shivkumar has also come out on this decision of the Government of Karnataka. He said that this decision has been taken by the government keeping in mind the ratio of population in the state. DK Shivkumar said that many projects of the state government are lying vacant and it is also necessary to fill them. Along with this, the quota has been increased from 10 percent to 15 percent in view of the proportion of the population of the Muslim community. DK Shivkumar also targeted the opposition party BJP during this period. He said that the BJP has no work other than doing politics in the name of Muslim.
