The Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement, “A unit of Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) and Cockpit Voice Records (CVR) was recovered from the accident site on 13 June 2025. The second set of the aircraft was received on 16 June. The model of the aircraft has two black boxes.”

AAIB investigation continues

The investigation of AAIB continues continuously with full cooperation of local authorities and agencies. The ministry said that the recovery work which involves the gathering site documentation and evidence is almost complete and now further analysis is on. Some media outlets are also reported to have been sent abroad to recover and analyze CVR/DFDR (Black Box) of Air India aircraft AI171. The decision on the location to decode flight data will be taken by AAIB after proper evaluation of all technical, safety and safety ideas.
