Mani Ratnam was directed by Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Simbu and others. The cinema was released just a few weeks ago. The cinema was defeated at the box office. No one who has seen the cinema has talked positively about cinema. Some critics also wrote that the worst cinema of the year was written. Director Mani Ratnam has openly apologized for the first time after the cinema defeat.
Speaking in an interview with a Telugu media, Mani Ratnam said, “I apologize to the film lovers who are expecting a movie like ‘Naygan’ from both of us (Mani Ratnam-Kamal Haasan). We didn’t want to go back again. Why go? We wanted to give something new. The audience had expected something else, but we gave us what they were very different than they expected, so that they were disillusioned.
‘Thug Life’ has not even earned Rs 50 crore at the box office. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have invested in cinema. But the digital rights of the cinema have been bought by Net Flicks with more than 100 crore. But now Net Flicks are also trying to change the deal.

‘Thug Life’ is a huge loss from Karnataka. Speaking during the ‘Thug Life’ campaign, Kamal said, “Kannada is born from Tamil.” This has caused a fierce controversy in the state. Kannada organizations have demanded the ban on ‘Thug Life’ and threatened to set fire to theaters if the film was released. For the same reason, Karnataka has not released the ‘Thug Life’ cinema. Now, the Supreme Court has ordered the release of ‘Thug Life’ in the state. But none of the distributors are ready to release the cinema.
