New twist in Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, two accused overturned in front of magistrate

Shillong: In Meghalaya, two of the three accused who helped Sonam Raghuvanshi her husband Raja Raghuvanshi have overturned from their statements and refused to make a statement in front of the magistrate. Shillong SP Herbert Piniad Kharakongor said that Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi remained silent and refused to make any statement when he was presented before the magistrate on Thursday. Earlier, the Meghalaya Police had claimed that all the accused had confessed to the crime.

Police said- We have enough evidence

The SP of Shillong said that we sent only two of the five accused to the magistrate. They did not want to make any statement. We have enough evidence against them. We are also waiting for the forensic investigation report. He said that the statements filed under Section 180 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) assist the officers during the investigation and cross -examination, but the statements recorded before the magistrate under Section 183 are important in the court.

Anand and Akash are accused of helping Sonam-Raj

Apart from Anand and Akash, Vishal Singh Chauhan, during his honeymoon in Meghalaya last month, assisted Sonam and her lover Raj Kushwaha to kill her newly married husband Raja. Raja, a resident of Indore, married Sonam on May 11. According to police, despite Sonam’s relationship with Raj, the marriage took place, who worked as an accountant in the furniture sheet company owned by her family.

Laptop could not be recovered yet

Giving information about the investigation of Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, Shillong’s Superintendent of Police said that we have recovered a gun, cartridges and Rs 50,000 from a vehicle. Raj and Akash revealed a weapon in the bag. We want to find out whether laptops like laptops have been thrown away. He claimed that the laptop was thrown away, but we will interrogate them and find out where they were actually thrown. Are they still kept somewhere?
