Hyderabad: The resignation of T. Raja Singh, MLA from Goshamahal in Telangana, has been accepted by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He on 30 June 2025 N. The party resigned from the party’s primary membership to protest Ramchander Rao as the Telangana BJP president. Singh, in his resignation, accused the party leadership of ignoring workers and wrong leadership selection. He had disagreed over the party’s strategy for being elected state president, although he had also expressed his commitment to Hindutva ideology. Now the Bharatiya Janata Party has accepted his resignation.

Raja Singh is a consecutive MLA since 2014

T Raja Singh, also known as ‘Tiger Raja Singh’, has been constantly elected MLAs from Goshamahal assembly constituency in Telangana. Raja Singh won the Goshamahal seat in the Telangana assembly elections of 2014, 2018 and 2023. Especially in 2018, when most of the BJP candidates lost, they still retained their seat. The seat is Hindu -dominated and falls under the Lok Sabha seat of Hyderabad, where AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi is an MP. Polarization of Hindu votes has been important in his victory.

The image of Raja Singh is the image of a staunch Hindutva

Raja Singh is known as a staunch Hindutva leader. They have been raising the issues of cow protection and Hindu community vigorously. He has also been associated with Hindutva organizations like Bajrang Dal and Shri Ram Yuva Sena. Raja Singh has been in discussion for his inflammatory and disputed statements. A few years ago, he was also arrested due to similar controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammed. He was suspended by the BJP after the incident, but his suspension was canceled before the 2023 elections. There are several criminal cases against him, some of which are related to communal offenses.
