The use of loudspeakers, drums and bands has been banned inside the Sri Naina Devi campus of Himachal during the Shravan Ashtami fair. This information has been given in a statement released on Sunday. The fair will run from 25 July to 3 August.

Ban on the use of bamboo baskets also

According to the order, District Magistrate Rahul Kumar has also banned the use of bamboo baskets for offering pudding, coconut and offerings in the temple premises. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the facility, safety and hygiene.

Restriction on the use of sound spreading devices

The statement said that the District Magistrate has imposed a complete ban on the use of loudspeakers, dhols, bands and other sound amplifiers in the Shri Naina Devi Mela campus during the fair. Essential public messages or announcements will be broadcast only through the control room.

Appeal to maintain peaceful and disciplined environment

The district administration has appealed to the devotees to follow the rules set by the administration during the fair and cooperate in maintaining a peaceful and disciplined environment in the temple premises.

Heavy vehicles going to the temple also ban

Kumar said that adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration to control the crowd and maintain law and order. During the fair, the movement of heavy vehicles on the road from Towwa to Shri Naina Devi Ji temple has also been banned. (With language input)
