New Delhi: Today, on the Shivaratri of the holy month of Sawan, crores of kanvadis and devotees are performing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva in Shiva temples across the country. Since midnight, there has been an influx of devotees in the temples and the atmosphere has become devotional with the shouts of Har Har Mahadev. Lord Mahakal was anointed in the famous Mahakal temple of Ujjain with Vedic chanting in the morning. This was followed by Bhasma Aarti, in which the devotees took part. After the worship, the process of darshan started with Mahaarti.

Delhi: On the occasion of Shravan Shivaratri, a large number of devotees arrived at the Gauri Shankar temple of Chandni Chowk.

Ghaziabad: On the occasion of Shravan Shivaratri, a crowd of devotees gathered at Dudheshwar Nath Temple and performed prayers and havan.
Ghaziabad: As the Kandar Yatra is moving towards its last stop, Kanwar passengers are moving from trucks and motorcycles to their destinations.
On the Sawan Shivaratri, Shiva devotees worship Lord Shiva and worship Lord Shiva by law in the auspicious time. It is believed that all the wishes of the person who worships Bholenath with true devotion on this holy day is fulfilled. This is the reason that devotees are anointing with water, milk, curd and ghee in temples across the country.
