Actor Kamal Haasan will enter Rajya Sabha, DMK gives a seat in the election

Actor -turned -politician Kamal Haasan can take entry into the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament. In fact, the ruling party in Tamil Nadu has revealed on Wednesday that it will contest 4 seats in the biennial election of Rajya Sabha. The party has said that it has given one seat to Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM). Let us know that biennial elections are going to be held for the Rajya Sabha on June 19.

DMK announces 3 candidates

DMK has also announced the names of 3 candidates for the Rajya Sabha election. The party has re -nominated senior advocate P Wilson. Apart from this, two other DMK candidates will be party leader SR Shivalingam and poet, writer and party officer Rukayya Malik alias Kavinar Salma. Let us know that 6 Rajya Sabha MPs coming from Tamil Nadu will retire on 24 July 2025. Retired leaders include PMK’s Anbumani Ramdas and MDMK top leader Vaiko.

Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM) has also indicated that actor can visit Rajya Sabha. Party leader Murali Appas said- “We have passed a resolution to choose Kamal Haasan as a Rajya Sabha member from Makkal Nidhi Mayyam Party.”
