Air India’s major decision, reduced the number of flights; Explain this reason

New Delhi: Air India said on Sunday that it would temporarily reduce 118 weekly flights operated with narrow -sized aircraft on 19 routes and suspend services on three routes. The airline owned by the Tata group said a few days ago that it would temporarily cut international flights operated with wide -sized aircraft by 15 percent. The airline said in a statement that it is going to make a temporary cut of less than five percent in its total narrow -sized fleet.

Number of aircraft reduced by July 15

According to the statement, “This voluntary decision will give a temporary suspension of Air India services on three routes and will reduce the turns on 19 routes.” These changes will remain effective by at least 15 July 2025. ”Flights on three routes-Bengaluru-Singapore, Pune-Sangapur and Mumbai-Bagdogra (AI 551/552) will be postponed at least till at least 15 July. The number of flights will be reduced on many other routes including Delhi-Bangalore and Delhi-Mumbai. According to the airline, the purpose of this deduction is to strengthen the stability of Air India’s network operations and reduce the inconvenience of passengers at the last minute.

Air India made a statement

Air India spokesperson said in a statement, “Amid growing tension in the Gulf region, the Air India Group confirms that our flights currently do not pass through the air areas of Iran, Iraq and Israel. As an active remedy, we will avoid the use of some air areas above the Persian Gulf in the coming days, instead of UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait, we will avoid the use of UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. This adjustment can increase the flight period for these services. Early, air India is alertly monitored to maintain the safety and integrity of our operations.
