The CBI has arrested two people, including the IRS officer, for demanding a bribe of 25 lakhs. Amit Kumar, who is the IRS officer of the Single Indian Revenue Service 2007 batch. At present, the taxpayer service department was posted as Additional Director in New Delhi. The CBI has arrested them. Along with this, Harsh Kotak, a private person, has been arrested.
Bribe was demanded for Rs 45 lakh
A bribe of Rs 45 lakh was demanded from the complainant in the name of tax help from the revenue department. Out of this, the CBI has arrested both of them red -handed taking 25 lakh rupees as a first installment.
Threatened to implicate in legal cases
The complainant was threatened, if he does not give money, he will be implicated in legal cases. Along with this, thick penalty was also threatened. After this, the complainant informed the CBI and the investigation was started by registering a case.
CBI raided these locations
The CBI raided several hideouts of IRS officer and private person. The raids were conducted by the CBI in the location of Delhi, Punjab and Mumbai. During this time a search operation was done. The CBI gathered evidence and caught red handed taking a bribe.
