Congress won from Nilambur seat, defeated LDF candidate by 11 thousand votes

The result of the by -election for the Nilambur assembly seat in Kerala has come. From here, Congress candidate Aryadan Shoukath has won. In the Nilambur Assembly by -election, M. Swaraj of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has been defeated by a margin of 11,077 votes.

Maintained from the beginning

The seat was held on 19 June. On Monday, the votes were counted at Chungathara Mar Thoma Higher Secondary School. Congress candidate Shaukat maintained an edge from the beginning. During the 19 round of counting, Aryadan Shaukat gave everyone to M. Swaraj.

44.17% percent votes

According to Election Commission data, Congress candidate Shaukat has received 77,737 votes (44.17%), while M. Swaraj has received 66,660 votes (37.88%). Independent candidate PV Anwar is at number three. Independent candidate got 19760 votes. This is 11.23% of the total votes.

BJP candidate gets only 4.9 percent votes

The BJP’s election campaign in the Nilambur assembly seat has been disappointing. BJP candidate Mohan George has not won the election. The BJP candidate got only 8,562 votes (4.9%).
