Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India, citing the dead or migration people in Bihar, said that 51 lakh names would be removed from the state’s voter list.

Names of 18 lakh dead came out in SIR test

The Election Commission of India has given this information through a press release on Tuesday. The Election Commission said that the names of 18 lakh dead have been found in the facts that have been revealed in the SIR test. 26 lakh people have gone to other assembly constituencies. 7 lakh people have got their voter ID cards made in two places. In this way, the names of a total of 51 lakh people will be removed from the voter list of Bihar.

Eligible voters will get a list on August 1

Also, the Election Commission of India said that efforts have been intensified to ensure that all eligible voters should be included in the voter list to be published on August 1, 2025.

Election machinery engaged in finding voters

The entire election machinery, including about 1 lakh BLOs, 4 lakh wantires and 1.5 lakh BLA, is working together to find those voters appointed by the district presidents of all 12 major political parties in Bihar. Those who have not yet submitted their calculation forms (EF) or who have not been found at their address.

The Election Commission said that people associated with the revision of the voter list have held meetings with representatives of all political parties. Of these, a detailed list of 21.36 lakh voters has been shared, whose forms have not yet been received. About 52.30 lakhs have also shared a list of voters who have allegedly died or who have been permanently transferred or who have registered their names in the voter list at more than one places.

Can get objections

The Election Commission said that according to the order of SIR of 24 June 2025, from 1 August to 1 September 2025, any person in the general public can register objections to add, remove and improve the draft voter list.
