Axiom Space said that NASA has decided to withdraw from the planned launch of the Axiom Mission 4 on Sunday, June 22. The new date will be announced for the launch of the mission in the coming days. The space agency said it needed a little more time to continue assessing the operations at the International Space Station, as the recent repair work was done in the rear part of the orbital laboratory’s Jawjda service module. Axiom Space said in a statement, “Given the complex and depending systems of the space station, NASA is taking time to review data. NASA wants to ensure that the systems of the space station are ready to support the members of the additional crew.”

The mission was originally scheduled to be launched on 29 May, but was later deferred to 8 June, then June 10, June 11, June 19 and again till 22 June. Now it has been postponed indefinitely. The previous delay was due to several reasons, including delay in preparation of Falcon 9 rockets, adverse weather conditions, liquid oxygen leakage and technical malfunction in the service module of the space station.
