Family girl love marriage with another caste boy, society boycotted

Shocking news has come out from a village in Odisha, which has forced everyone to think. In fact, in Baganguda village of Gorokhpur Panchayat of Kashipur block of Raigadha district here, the mental mentality of caste has come out for a love marriage. This incident has surprised everyone. Actually, a young woman from a scheduled tribe community of this village took a love marriage to a young man from the scheduled caste class of another village. Due to this, the girl’s family and the people of her village got angry with her. The villagers, considering it as a violation of caste, allegedly pressurized the girl’s family that if they want to stay in the village, they would have to go through the process of purification.

Family of love marriage got punishment

According to the information, the people of the village pressurized the girl’s family that if they want to return to the caste, they would have to sacrifice an animal and then perform the Mundan Sanskar. Only after this, they will get a place again in the society. Under the pressure of the society, 40 members of the family performed the Mundan rites. On receiving the news of this incident, BDO Vijay Soy of Kashipur has directed the block officer to go to the village and investigate. Now the truth will be revealed only after investigation and officials have said that action will also be taken if needed.

Adopting such a purification process by considering a private decision like love marriage as a social crime is not only unconstitutional, but also openly violates human rights.
