Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the number of polling stations in Uttar Pradesh is going to increase. In fact, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa said on Monday that no more than 1200 voters will remain at any polling station. This change will increase about 12% polling stations in the entire state and in some districts this figure may be even more.
According to Rinwa, voters will directly benefit from this step, as they will not have to stand in long queues for voting. This system will make the voting process more easy.
Emphasis on electoral roll revision
In the Commissioner Auditorium in Meerut, the District Magistrate/District Election Officers of 15 districts were given detailed training regarding electoral roll revision, election process and related rules and regulations. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa presided over this training program.
During the training, Rinwa gave detailed information about various instructions from the provisions of the Constitution to the provisions of the Constitution to remove the errors of the voter list, train booth level officers (BLO). He also informed that the voter list is made from a database called ‘ERO Net’.
Appointment of BLO
He informed that according to the instructions of the Election Commission of India, which officers have to be appointed as BLO, according to which BLO is being appointed. He informed that 15 district election officers are undergoing training in Meerut district of western Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
Focus on facilities
He said that this is the first time that in addition to the election period, such a dense one -day training is being given regarding the voter list. He informed that basic facilities at all polling stations have been instructed to ensure drinking water, separate toilets of women and men, lighting, ramps for disabled etc. (input language)
