Kamal Haasan postponed his Rajya Sabha nomination amid Kannada-Tamil dispute

There was an agreement between Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Haasan’s Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM) at the time of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Under this, DMK -led alliance is to give Rajya Sabha seat to Hassan in lieu of support of MNM.

DMK announced Hassan’s name for one of the 3 Rajya Sabha seats on 28 May.

Let me tell you, 6 Rajya Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu will be vacant, for which elections are to be held on June 19.
