Meghale murder case: Sonam and her lover Raj Kushwaha for 2 days police custody

Shillong: In an important incident in the high-profile Meghalaya Honeymoon murder case, the District Sessions Court of Shillong has sent two main accused- Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha to two days police custody. Meanwhile, the other three accused arrested in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi have been sent to 14 days judicial custody. Those three people have been identified as Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand. Advocate Tushar Chanda confirmed the update, saying, “Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha were sent to two days of police custody and other accused were sent to 14 days judicial custody.”

The Meghalaya Police is constantly active to connect the links of the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case and in the same sequence, a team of Meghalaya Police on Wednesday made a thorough questioning of a taxi driver along with acquaintances of Sonam and her lover Raj Kushwaha, the main accused of the murder in Indore. The investigation was done in the office of the Anti -crime branch of the local police.

Govind’s presence and his statements

During interrogation, Sonam’s brother Govind also appeared outside the office of the local crime prevention branch. According to eyewitnesses, Govind was also seen at several places during the investigation of the Meghalaya Police in Indore on Wednesday. Talking to reporters, Govind said that he was called to this office, but he was not questioned. He also informed that some employees of his family business and people associated with Raj Kushwaha were questioned here. Please tell that Sonam’s family does the business of Sanmika sheet used in furniture. Sonam was handling this business establishment till the arrest of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi before the arrest.

Taxi driver questioned

According to local police, Raj Kushwaha, accused of plotting the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, may have been 12th failure, but he worked as a accountant in Sonam’s family establishment, where his closeness with Sonam increased. Today’s interrogation also included a taxi driver, who is suspected of taking Sonam from Indore to Uttar Pradesh after the murder. The person refused to give his name, told reporters, “I was called in the case of a car (taxi). I have told the police what I had to tell.”

Murder incident

King Raghuvanshi, who went to celebrate a honeymoon in Meghalaya, was murdered on May 23.

His wife Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha and three friends of Kushwaha- Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi were arrested on charges of involvement in the murder.

King Raghuvanshi went missing during a honeymoon in Meghalaya on 23 May. His mutilated body was found on 2 June in a deep moat near a waterfall in the Sohra area of East Khasi Hills district (also known as Cherrapunji).

Sonam surrendered in front of police in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh late on June 8, while four other accused, including Kushwaha, were arrested from different areas of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

King Raghuvanshi’s family is associated with transport business. He was married to Sonam on May 11 in Indore and he left for Meghalaya for a honeymoon on 20 May.
