In April, the Central Government appointed T Rabi Shankar as deputy governor of RBI for the second time, which is effective from May 3.
He was first appointed for a 3 -year term in May 2021 and a one -year expansion in May 2024.
Shankar currently leads 13 departments in RBI. In January this year, he was given additional charge of Financial Market Rules and Fintech Department.
