“Power, wealth, land, syndicate … Indulged deep in Assam government”, Gaurav Gogoi said- Congress will have to strengthen

Gaurav Gogoi, the newly appointed president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -led state government. He alleged that the ruling front only cares about “power, money, land and syndicate”, which has led to disastrous floods and waterlogging in Guwahati. Gogoi explained the main reason for this situation on the encroachment by close ministers and people of the ruling party.

Hemant government strikes during the journey

In the Lok Sabha, Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi started a 250 km long journey from Sivasagar to Nagaon on Sunday morning. During the journey, his convoy with thousands of supporters passed through Jorhat and Golaghat in the evening. Talking to reporters after visiting the historic Shiva Daul (temple) in Sivasagar city, Gogoi said, “This government is deeply involved in power, money, land grab and syndicate. Unplanned construction, land grab and contracted flyovers have become priority rather than the needs of the common people of Guwahati.”

Bad rains in Guwahati

In Assam’s capital Guwahati, people faced a lot of trouble after heavy rains on Friday. Due to heavy rains, almost all roads and many residential areas have been submerged. Due to continuous rains for two days, all areas have been flooded to knees, while in some places there is even more water.

Question on BJP’s Guwahati policy

Gaurav Gogoi said, “The BJP’s policy in Guwahati is based on the greed for money and land. Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma has been a long -time Guwahati Development Minister. Now his close associates are his close aide, but BJP ministers are worried about the road leading to his home more than strengthening water bodies and strengthening the drainage system.” He referred to the residence of Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Jayant Malla Barua, as far as the concrete road has been encroached.

“Will highlight the whole corruption”

The Lok Sabha member further said, “We will highlight the entire corruption in the state one by one. The huge corruption prevailing in various departments of Guwahati will also be exposed in the coming days.”

Referred to Assam Panchayat election

Along with this, Gogoi also commented on the poor performance of opposition parties in the recent panchayat elections in Assam. He said, “All opposition parties should review their respective performances and the Congress is also doing so. The Congress is the most powerful among the opposition parties. To strengthen the opposition front, we have to strengthen the Congress.”

Will visit 18 assembly constituencies

During his visit, Gogoi met senior citizens in Sivasagar and discussed various issues with them. He paid tribute to the statue of Pioli Fukan, who was martyred during the freedom movement and prayed at Shiva Daul. According to a Congress spokesperson, Gaurav Gogoi will visit 18 assembly constituencies of Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaidev, Golaghat and Nagaon districts from Saturday to Monday. He will reach Nagaon around midnight today and stay there at night. (input language)
