Bangalore: Khadak Officer Seemant Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new police commissioner of the city after the government suspended Bangalore City Police Commissioner.

B. The state government has instructed senior IPS officer Seemant Kumar Singh to get Dayanand suspended background midnight charge. Accordingly, at 12.15 pm, Seemant Kumar Singh was sworn in as the new police commissioner of Bangalore.

The new commissioner, Seemant Kumar, was welcomed by senior officials and DCPs.

Speaking afterwards, the new Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said, “I have been sworn in on the orders of the chief ministers and the Home Minister. Earlier commissioners have done a good job. I will continue it. I have not responded to the footprint. “I will meet with the authorities and respond later,” the new commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said.

Who is this Seemant Kumar Singh? Bihar -based Seemant Kumar, a 1996 batch IPS officer, had previously served as Additional Commissioner of Bangalore East Zone, ADGP in ACB and KSRP ADGP. Seemant Kumar Singh, who is currently the BMTF (Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force), has now been appointed as the 39th Commissioner for Bangalore.

Seemant Kumar Singh was the first police commissioner after a commissioner to Mangalore city. He also served as Dakshina Kannada District SP from 2000 to 2004. He was then the IGP of the Western Zone in 2014. Seemant Kumar Singh, the IGP of the Bangalore Central Division, was also the commander of the DIG and the Naxal Suppression Force (ANF).
