Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, India’s Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and Pakistan’s Joint Chief of Staff Committee Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza participated in several sessions of Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore. According to the news agency PTI, since these countries are geographically adjacent to each other, their top generals sat in the neighboring conference rooms inside Shangri-La Singapore and participated in several sessions simultaneously on subjects ranging from defense related issues to regional crisis management mechanisms on Saturday afternoon.

India’s tolerance has a limit

Speaking at the program, India’s CDS General Anil Chauhan, while referring to Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, said, “Politically, it has drawn a new red line of intolerance against terror,” he said. PTI quoted Anil Chauhan as saying, “I hope this special operation, it is basically in the military sector, will also bring some lessons for our opponents and hope that they will learn that it is a limit of India’s tolerance. We have been subject to this pseudo -war of terrorism for more than two decades, and we have lost many people … We want to end it.”

Pakistan General said

According to a PTI report, in his address, Pakistan General Sahir Shamshad Mirza stressed the need to move towards a conflict solution rather than management, warning that there could be a disastrous increase in its absence. During a panel discussion titled the regional crisis-management system “, Mirza said:” It has become mandatory to move from struggle management to conflict management. This will ensure permanent peace and sure crisis management. ”

The solution of Kashmir issue is necessary

He then emphasized that for permanent peace in South Asia, “the UN Security Council’s proposals and the aspirations of the people are required to resolve a quick solution to Kashmir (issues).”
He said, “Given Indian policies … the absence of crisis management system cannot give enough time to intervene and end enmity. It may have been too late to avoid damage and destruction.”

Mirza further said on the Kashmir issue, “When there is no crisis, Kashmir is never discussed, and as we always say that the Kashmir dispute resolution will solve many issues in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the UNSC proposals. He said,” The origin between Pakistan and India is Kashmir. Unless there is a permanent solution, this issue will always emerge.

Risk for both countries
The apex general further stated that after the military conflict, “The limit of war has reduced dangerously, which means that there is a greater risk for both sides, not only in the disputed region but in the whole of India and the whole of Pakistan. Mirza insisted,” Mirza stressed, “His ambition to promote India as a pure safety provider and become a regional suzerainty is making his ambition to be a pure security provider.” He said, “What we call traditional war has reduced considerably.”
