After the Supreme Court’s ban on petitions challenging the Waqf law, the Central Government has taken a big decision regarding the waqf. According to sources, the central government will move forward with the Waqf and on June 6, the ‘hope’ portal of the Waq will be launched. According to the Waqf law, registration of Waqf properties on the portal is mandatory. This ‘hope’ portal will be launched with the aim of promoting the management and transparency of Waqf properties.

What is the full name of ‘hope’?

The full name of ‘Asha’ is Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development Act (Integrated Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency and Development Act). Waqf properties across the country will be registered through this portal. According to sources, Election Commission data will be resorted to for identity. Under this, it will be mandatory to register all Waqf properties within 6 months.

The property registered in the name of women will not be declared Waqf

Each Waqf property has now been made mandatory to live-tag and its full details will have to be declared on the site. Apart from this, the property registered in the name of women or where women are successful, they cannot be declared Waqf. It will be the responsibility of Mutavalli (manager) to register the Waqf property. The assets will be registered through the State Waqf Board and the Waqf Board will provide technical assistance for this.

If you could not register in 6 months, then what next?

Also, if no Waqf property is registered in 6 months, such as due to a technical issue or for any other major reason, they can be given additional time of 1-2 months.
