Participation in ‘Praimkov Readings’
Posting a picture of meeting Russian Foreign Minister Lavarov on X, Shashi Tharoor wrote, “In Moscow, he was happy to meet old friend Sergei Lavrov during the ‘Praimakov Readings’ in Moscow.” The Pramimakov Readings is a global annual platform, where the International Relations and World Economy are discussed. Experts from 40 countries including India are participating in this annual meeting. The platform is named after former Russian Prime Minister Yavageni Prima Kov.
Every year the event is organized by the Institute of World Economic and International Relations and the Russian Foreign Ministry. Experts of different subjects on this platform openly discuss global challenges like international security, economic cooperation, climate change, terrorism and cyber security.
Promotion of documentary series
Russia’s official television network RT (RT) has created a 10 episode of Shashi Tharoor’s books “Imperial Resipts with Dr. Shashi Tharoor”. For the promotion of this series, Congress MPs arrived in Russia to participate in the TV programs and events to be held in Russia. Although the release date of the documentary is not yet decided, some of its clips are shown in RT’s popular show ‘The Sanchez Effect’. Shashi Tharoor said in a conversation with the show’s host Rick Sanchez, “We have completed a series of 10 episodes based on British colonialism, it is based on my writing and research. I hope your viewers will definitely watch it.
During his tour, Shashi Tharoor also met several think tanks. He also met Andrei Denisov, former Russian ambassador to the United Nations and Vice President of International Affairs Committee of Russian Union Council. Tharoor said in another post, “Old friend Andrei Denisov, former Russian ambassador to the United Nations and China, and now the Russian Union Council’s Vice President of the International Affairs Committee came pleaded.”
India’s tough stand on terrorism
In a conversation with Russian Liberal Democratic Party President Lyonid Sltsky in Moscow, Tharoor referred to India’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against terrorism and described Pakistan as a shelter of terrorism. He said that Pakistan not only raises terrorists, but also provides them military training, financial help and weapons.
Let me tell you that Shashi Tharoor recently visited the US and four other countries while presiding over an all -party delegation, where he firmly put India’s side and exposed the nefarious face of Pakistan to the world.
