IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Goa- 6E 6271 had to make an emergency landing at Mumbai Airport on Wednesday. Pilot called ‘Pan Pan Pan’ before the flight emergency landing at Mumbai Airport. Actually, this ‘pan pan pan’ is spoken so that it can be informed that the aircraft has an essential situation, but there is no immediate danger situation.
There were 191 people in the aircraft
The aircraft operated from Airbus A320NEO was riding 191 people, which took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to Goa Airport, but due to the engine malfunction in the middle, it had to make an emergency landing in Mumbai. The flight landed safely at 9:53 pm.
Engine number-1 malfunction
Mumbai Airport officials said the incident occurred when IndiGo flight was flying about 100 knots north of Bhubaneswar. “Pilot declared ‘PAN PAN PAN’ (an essential message indicating an emergency) due to a malfunction in engine number-1,” an official said.

However, IndiGo stated that it was a common diversion due to technical fault. An airline spokesman said, “A technical fault was detected on 16 July 2025 in flight number 6E 6271 from Delhi to Manohar International Airport, Goa. Following the procedures, the aircraft was diverted at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, following the procedures.
The crew of the flight requested diversion in Mumbai at around 9:32 pm. “According to the standard operating process (SOP), an ambulance and fire tender were on standby and chased them to the aircraft.
