Dharwad: The Supreme Court has issued a bail order to cancel the bail of MLA Vinay Kulkarni, who was granted bail in the murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda.

The Supreme Court, which canceled bail, has instructed Vinay Kulkarni to surrender to the CBI in another week. With this, Dharwad constituency Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni has begun again.

Vinaya Kulkarni, who was accused in the murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda, was sentenced to judicial custody. On August 11, 2021, the Supreme Court granted bail to Vinay Kulkarni. However, the CBI had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the bail and requested the cancellation of the bail as the witnesses have been lured to the witnesses. The Supreme Court, which has now considered the CBI’s application, has issued a bail order issued by Vinay Kulkarni.

What is the case? Yogesh Gowda was murdered on June 15, 2016 at his own gym in Saptapur, Dharwad. He was then a cabinet minister in the Siddaramaiah -led Congress government. Vinay Kulkarni was arrested on November 5, 2020 in connection with the case. The state government has ordered a CBI probe into the murder. Vinay Kulkarni had applied for bail several times after his arrest. But the Dharwad High Court had denied bail. Vinay then appealed to the court to transfer the case to the court. The bail application was dismissed. Finally, he managed to get bail in the murder on August 11 by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had granted bail to Dharwad.
